Treadmill Tryst

I hate to admit this... but
I had FUN on the treadmill today.

Really, I did.
It was like a date with an old friend that went really well - not that I would know.

I haven't run on a treadmill in long while, but being that I don't really know the area yet, it seemed like the safest thing to do.

I hopped on and put it on the old setting I used to do. And it was sooo easy so I sped up. I was running an 8:30 mile for 2 miles! I am always in the high 9's so this was great.

Then I decided to switch it up and do some hills so I did 2 miles of hill intervals and it was FUN.
Am I losing my mind?

I was sweating like a banshee. Not that banshees sweat, but I sure as hell was.
Then, feeling super motivated I hit the weights.
Hell yeah - bathing suit time people. Bathing suit time.

And there is a scale in my hotel room. It's no Anita, but it says the same damn thing she does... 136. Maybe, just maybe this is where my body is supposed to be. Jiggly tummy and all.

  4. The TM serves it's purpose. I might be using it this next week. I hope we have a pleasant date like you two had.

  5. Glad your TM time was good. The treadmill & I just don't get along. I can't go as fast, I can't go as long, and it makes me cranky.

Of course, maybe I'm faster now - I haven't been on one in a couple of months!

Glad you're getting in some banshee sweat! That's awesome!

  8. The key to blind dates is low expectations. Sounds like you hit it off more than well with the treadmill. BTW, that little ditty got me a husband. :P hee hee

There is always a seat at the dinner table. :D

I'm sure people are like, WTF is she talking about?

    136 is pretty dang good.

  9. If there's anything more annoying than a regular TM run, it's a hotel TM run. Don't know why.

    Congrats to you, though!!!!

  12. Treadmill fun is so rare, you should save it, bottle it, and spread it among the rest of us that don't know what the heck you're talking about!

  13. My treadmill and I have been at odds for a while. He is just there to keep me company as I warm up for my street runs. I used to have fun with him...kinda miss it.

  15. It’s a trick, don’t trust the dreadmill! I’ve read stories where they try to lure you back to using them on a regular basis. Don’t do it.

  17. Sheer delirium ;-).

Did I even spell that right?

I would kill to see 136 on the scale... or anything lower than 170. Ugh.

  18. You're not crazy. I like playing with the digits on the TM and it seems I can run faster on it, too. You have more control on the TM over your body than you do outside. I think it's a good tool to mix up runs and to speed train. I'm glad you had a good run, and then weights. Way to go!

  19. The TM can be fun, once in a while. I prefer to do my best banshee sweating while being screamed at by an enthusiastic instructor. I'm a masochist.

Glad you had a great run. Bathing suit time has your name all over it...

  20. Nice work. I am just getting acquainted with the TM myself, and working my way up to "real" road and trail running.

  22. Have a great time in PR - it sounds like running - on whatever surface - is helping you get your mojo back. Keep it up honey - you're going to be getting prs on the back of this!

  24. Sweating like a banshee? I prefer to use the term "sweating like a whore in church" ... hehehe. I actually used that one on my way back down the mountain while hiking!

    Nice run!

BTW, I think 136 is a good number! I would LOVE to get back down to that!
