Home and Away

Back from Cabo. Home for one day and leaving tomorrow afternoon for Denver!

It's time for the Denver Skirt Chaser 5k!!!

I'm so excited to see my Denver pals and meet up with some new ones - Running Moore (aka Running Duff), Vanilla and whoever else wants to meet up for a post race drinkie poo.

I got a nice 4 miler in today and will do yoga before I leave. I am dying to get into the yoga room and sweat out some of this extra 4lbs I put on in Cabo (all on my stomach!). Honestly, I gain weight SO easily. I didn't eat really bad in Cabo. A couple chips here and there, but nothing outrageous. I did get a couple runs in, a couple ocean frolicky swims and one $50 yoga class. (Yes, you read that right). Plus it was so damn hot and humid that I was sweating thru my clothing ALL DAY LONG.
4 lbs just hopped on my body so easily. I know it will come off just as easily, but it's just annoying that I gain when I'm not being vigilant and pyscho about it.

So, back to being psycho.

  10. Welcome back for a quickie stay at home. I can completely understand on the quick gaining weight thing. I am still trying to decide who gave me that gene. I think both of my parents have it so I am totally screwed.

Enjoy yoga tonight, I bet you have missed it.

Have an amazing time...hoefully your skirt get chased by some hotties!

  13. If you were sweating that much, your weight gain is probably just because you're retaining water. Guzzle, guzzle, guzzle girl, so you can kick trash on your race (you wanna make those hotties work for the "prize" right?).

Enjoy (the scenery in) yoga, and hopefully the altitude in Denver doesn't affect you too much. = )

  20. Hi there –
Um, it’s weird I feel like I’m in a parallel universe right now. I was doing a google search for something bikram-related and came across your blog – read the post and loved it – linked to page uno and see this post and freaked! I haven’t read the rest of your posts, but so far we have the following in common: I live in OC, just got back from Cabo on Tuesday where I gained 3 pounds and couldn’t wait to get to bikram to sweat it out (I went last night-it was great and I feel cleansed), and I run but I’m probably a total rookie compared to you. I’m doing a 5K end of this month and last year I accidently ran a half marathon. No idea why I’m telling you this, but I just found all the coincidences odd and wanted to say hi… -N

  24. Girl I hear ya on the psycho part. I've come to realize I can easily fluctuate up 3-5lbs just with a wine or dessert here and there. Well I guess I've decided I choose being psycho and happy with myself than non-psycho and pissed off, right?

  26. I hear you on the weight. It will take me 2 weeks to lose 5 pounds and an hour to gain it back! So frustrating but what can you do but keep plugging away.

  33. I just read about that race! I think in Runner's World. Looks like fun.

I can't believe you spent $50 on a yoga class. It should be illegal to charge that much!

I hear you on the easy weight gain. I gain 4lbs after eating a taco.

    Have fun in Denver.

  40. I'm going through all of your Songs of The Day and listening to them while I work today. I have Rhapsody, so unlimited access to EVERYTHING! My only problem is that I don't know what to listen to...Katy Perry is making me happy right now. Thanks!
