Foundation Update

Not that anyone is really interested, but here's how the story ends.
I did go back to buy it.
I loved the other products so I don't want to return them.

Here are my justifications:
1. My grams gave me $200 for Christmas, so I will consider it a gift from her.
2. I only buy concealer about once a year. Maybe twice. So if I prorate the amount over the entire year it's like $7-12 per month. That's nothing.

Plus the sales lady remembered me and threw in a full size lip gloss for my troubles. I LOVE LIPGLOSS! And she said that I can come in anytime and she will do my make up for free. And she invited me to an eyebrow event next month. Fun times. Fun times.

I need to go shopping with you.

  3. Exactly. Its a gift from Grams and you'll have those products for a really long time. I bought my Bobbi Brown stuff before the wedding last year (Aug. 07) and I'm still using it!

  4. Are you sure she didn't say a hi-brow event you know like a MENSA meeting?

  5. The worst "eyebrow event" I had was new year's eve a few years ago, I had a big date with fancy dress, etc. The day before, I waxed my own eyebrows . . . entirely off of my face, except for the faintest suggestion of a line. Had to pencil them in. One of the only new year's resolutions I have ever kept is "never wax your own eyebrows again." A professional "eyebrow even" sounds like a date worth keeping, in my book!

  6. I am so god damn relieved that you took care of this. I seriously couldn't concentrate on work this morning...

I'm being a smart ass, but seriously, I do really care. I'm the same way w/makeup. I rarely buy it but when I do it is blowout city. Next time try Kiehls and you'll get tons o samples too.

  7. I'm glad you updated us, I've been fraught with anxiety all day about what you would do without foundation. Also, can I request that you be sure to blog about the eyebrow event.

P.S. What do you do with foundation? It's for your face, yes?

P.P.S. I'm totally just giving you crap P.O.M.

  8. Ooooh, the eyebrow event- sweet!! I am a total sucker for products - and I love and wear them. Seriously, a good foundation is a work expense - kind of like a good suit!!

  9. Eyebrow event, sounds intriguing!

Glad you got what you needed (not that you need foundation...it was more of a want). =)

  10. An eyebrow event! Crazy times...

I'm with you on the foundation though - I only buy one or two a year and they cost BUT those mornings where my skin looks hideous and I have bags under my eyes - most days - I am just so grateful I splurged...

  11. Excuse me for lacking chick-knowledge... but what, pray tell, is an eyebrow event???

  12. Glad you got it solved and got some lip gloos thrown in as well!

  13. I was so sad earlier when you said you weren't going back for the foundation - and am glad you did! yay! make-up is expensive, but you want good stuff - and it lasts FOREVER!

I am almost exclusively smashbox, but love my shiseido powder/foundation. and would not ever go drugstore again.

  14. Well, I think you made out pretty good then! Just the free makeup job is enough. My last consult/makeup job at Lancome cost me $58! I was shocked.

  15. Can you take a friend to the brow event... mine are UNMANAGABLE! :(

  16. Anything free makes it all better!

Everyone deserves a little splurge now and then - enjoy it!

  17. What the hell is an eyebrow event?

I need to get out more.

Guess I'm just not "pretty enough".

  18. I am going to send that young guy (who is tall dark and handsome like some other fish....er....men) straight to you.

I have an odd feeling it could be fun...ny.

    How are you kiddo?

  19. Well this is one heck of a day!

  20. I was sold at "eyebrow event". Totally justified!

  21. I love this 3-part series, I would of done the same. Plus you got free stuff, it doesn't matter how much you spent.

  22. Eyebrow event sounds like fun:D AND the lipgloss, nice.

Make up is something I don't buy too often, but when I do, I get the good quality stuff. It's gotta be good quality or else it doesn't look good! I love MAC and Smashbox.

  26. I'm glad you went back -- you deserve to treat yourself well.

And free gloss -- can't beat that!

  27. You had me at 'free lipgloss.'

I don't use foundation but my moisturizer costs a fortune. But good skin is worth it!

Make sure to blog about the eyebrow event!

  28. Yay, I'm so glad this story had a happy ending! And that's cool about the bonus lip gloss and stuff. An eyebrow event sounds right up your alley- well, at least the "event" part, right?

  29. I don't know what an eyebrow event is, either but I'm guessing I'm in need of one.

Say it, don't spray it.
