How To Interview

I had a job interview yesterday for a job that is about 1/10000000th of what I do now.
It would be a walk in the park. Super easy. I am totally over qualified. Like 10 years over qualified. This job is for someone just starting to get into the "industry."

So the interview went like this.

POM arrives in a suit in 100 degree weather.
POM is sweaty.
Very sweaty.

POM walks in and starts shaking.
Uncontrollably shaking.
Like a crack addict.

POM is handed a math test.
A math test?
Yes, a math test.
POM is too shaky to write.

POM bombs the math test.
POM can't even figure out a very simple question like:
A bill is $100. Tax is 7.75%. How much do you run the credit card for?
POM BOMBED big time.

POM was not-so politely shoo'd out the door.

POM is looking forward to collecting unemployment.

    Unemployment will be nice for awhile! And its good to get the interview nerves over with on a job that you really wouldn't want anyway (bored is terrible way to work).

    The answer should have been "zero"...POM doesn't pay sales tax, the store pays POM for shopping there...

    OK. It will get better. And that job? If you were over qualified, they would never pay you what you are worth.

    i did i think 12 interviews before I got my current job... one had a spelling test and let's just say for a journalism major, I use spell check or prayer to get all the words right

    I hate those tests- I suck at them.... I am able to generate budgets for millions of dollars but give me an employment math test- game over.

    Is your job gone? Or are you just looking?

    Oh and can I also say- the whole suit and heat thing- sucks!!! I swear I am always showing up to meetings down the coast that are literally 20-30 degrees hotter than when I dressed... hate that

Speaking of the hubby being a FF he had to wait a long time to find that perfect job and now we couldn't imagine him anywhere else!     We've all had those interviews. With two college degrees under my belt and more than a decade of superior experience, I once bombed on an interview for a part-time, fast-food position ... for no good reason, I couldn't answer or do anything that day! A month later, I found a job that I happily kept for nine years ... You'll find the right place. Don't give up!
