Pity Party Averted

At times like this it is so easy to fall into a full-fledged pity party.
I got dumped (again).
My car is acting crazy.
Work is beyond explainable.
My stomach is killing me (stress? 5 cookies I ate for breakfast? who knows)

Then I slipped away from the office to go to South Coast Plaza.
I bought new make up.

As I was walking back to my car, it hit me. No, not my car. But my attitude. It needs adjusting.
I am healthy.
I have a job.
I got my hair done and it looks great (thanks Kim).
I can still fit in my size 4s.
There are possibilities.
There is hope.

I guess retail therapy does really help!

Song of the day: Bruises by Chairlift (guess who that's dedicated to??)

  7. Ah retail. I was so tempted to get some new mac cosmetics at the mall today. But I was really there to shop for a 1 year old so I stopped myself. Now I'm wishing I hadn't. I love new make up and hair, you just feel so sassy, right?

  8. I've spent a fortune on "therapy" (the mall) this year! There is no better therapist around...but you may need a financial advisor if you aren't careful! :)

  10. Add in there that you're a super runner and have completed marathons at awesome times. It always feels good to shop and eat to feel better. Shopping always helps me. But you are totally right - you have so many good things going on!!! And you're so cute! So screw him, his loss. You have tons to offer.

  15. Ha! I need to start living vicariously happy through you hair/bod lady ;-). I'm hovering at an 8 with a really shitty impulse cut dump-induced by a guy that I shouldn't really give two swings about. And in 3 weeks I'll be unemployed LOL!

It's all in how you choose to feel girlie... if you choose happiness you get happiness. It's all a matter of perception :-)

I think I'm going to run now. I need size 6's.

  18. Truly awesome post. Way to look at the positive. A change in perspective is SO key. I was feeling like a total victim with the breastfeeding troubles, then I changed my attitude and now I'm feeling a zillion times better. Hooray!

  30. Hey Sweetie, checking in and catching up. Yeah, seriously? Size 4 is probably enough said. I would be a hugely incredible bitch if I was a size 4. :D :D hee hee. (wait a minute, I was 134 and I was! huh. sorry for the personal flashback.)

I am so dang sorry for the crap you have gone through. You are just amazing how you come through and learn and grow and work on the attitude. It's all going to work out. Ask the universe and believe. :D

BTW, I'd love to have a girlfriend named spicy latina. how hilarious.

You take care and remember I'm always here.

    XOXO
