12 miles checked off the list. 9:26 pace.
It wasn't easy.
But I burned 1300 calories and I will use all those up tonight at a BBQ!
Since I don't live on the beach anymore, I drove down there at about 6:45am. I had an apple and a hard boiled egg white, then hit the road. Parking is always a bitch, but I figured it was early enough that I wouldn't have a problem. I was planning on parking at a certain persons house because he isn't there and I have his key - just in case I need water or bathroom or anything like that. Well there was no damn parking. So I drove about 20 blocks backtracking to my other friends house. No luck again. So I drove back to the other house. I don't know why. I was just not thinking and frustrated.
So I get all set up - dorky ass fanny pack, water, iPod, Garmin. Oh shit... my headphones are broken again! I love my headphones because they stay in my ears, but I swear they break about every 4 months! If I hadn't driven and dealt with that morning drama, I probably would have thrown in the towel. But NO, I had to get this run in and prove to myself that I'm back in training mode. So I toughed it out with NO music.
The run was ok. There were some parts where I wanted to just stop and walk. But I didn't. I didn't realize how the music really pushes me and keeps my mind occupied. Some body parts were tight (hips) and sore (knees). I'm definitely craving some Bikram now (going tomorrow morning).
Still thinking about the table. Might go get tomorrow after yoga, but get chairs at IKEA to save a little moola. Oh, I'm dragging my friend SZ to yoga for the first time. She is the one that ran the 5k with me last weekend. I love that I'm getting her into all my things :) She has a truck so we can get the table after class. And she's handy so she can help me put it together too! Thanks SZ!!!

Good work getting that run in! I HATE running with no music. I went home for a week recently and forgot my iPod and I ended up cutting my scheduled 8 mile run down to 7 miles because without my music to distract me I was noticing everything else, my annoying breathing and my thighs rubbing together and blah! It was a terrible run!!
Have fun at yoga tomorrow!!
I've forgotten my ipod the last few runs, and it is harder, I think, w/o the music. Tomorrow I'm doing a swim followed by 11-12 miles (unless I actually broke my toe today - waiting for the beer to wear off). I'm still pretty stoked that we're marathoning together in Oct!
Nice job sticking out the run! I hate running without tunes.
Nice job on the run. I don't know if I could have gone 12 miles without tunes...
Looking for parking is the worst. Way to stick with it and then run. Have fun at yoga.
Nice work on the run. I'm the opposite of the others who commented. I can't run with music, I need to run without it. Long run are good thinking time!
12 miles sans music?! That's impressive. I would have gone home.
hooray for the new table. Does this mean you're inviting me over to catch up after this long awaited time :) ha ha, nice job on the 12 minus music. :/ ugh I hate that!
Great job getting the run in even with all the hassles. Training without music builds extra mental toughness I think.
Hope you had a nice workout and stretch at yoga.
at least you made it through the 12 miles. now go get that table!
yay great job getting through without the music! sometimes i love just not having it and being able to hear everything around me.
Damn 12 miles sans music...I don't know if I could have handled that!
I would drive myself insane analyzing my life if I ran alone in silence!
That's why I run with people, force them to talk to me, it's for my own mental health.
Nice run -- 12 miles without music? Awesome job. Glad to see you're in training mode! :)
I can only run without music with other people around me. I'm a wimp that way! Good job!
