Bridesmaid-zilla

Nine days until the wedding (not MINE people!) and I'm turning into a crazed bridesmaid-zilla.

Here's what I'm obsessing about:
  • Teeth bleachorexia - check
  • Fake tan - check (hey the wedding is in Laguna and I just need tan legs, so shut it)
  • Staying skinny - NOT check

I tried on the dress again last night and it is NOT good (Dr Dev don't read this). I look like a sausage that is busting out of its casing. The dress can zip, but there is some serious tightness especially in the tummy/boobage areas. (Boys don't read this) Let's just hope it's PMS and everything will settle down in 9 days.

When we got the dresses - MONTHS ago, I tried on the 4 and 6. And frankly the 4 fit better. I would have had to alter the straps in the 6. Who buys a dress and thinks "well maybe I'll put on 10 lbs so I better get the bigger size" - I know I sure didn't think that. But maybe I should have.

So this morning I woke up at 5:30am and went for a run. I forgot how dark it is with the time change. It's fine on the street, but half my run is on a path with no lights. It was touch a go there for a while. Seriously. I couldn't even see the ground at some points. I'm just grateful I didn't step in any doggie or horsey landmines. Oh yeah, and I'm grateful I didn't get run over by bike.

My 2nd plan of attack is to get as many Bikram classes in as humanly possible. Although I am traveling Mon-Thur so that isn't really an option. There is one day I will be able to run. Actually maybe 2. I have to make it happen.

The size 4 dilemma continues. I'm sure you are all thrilled.

(And by the way, I would be completely content with a 6, I just didn't buy the 6 so now I have to deal.)

Yes, I caught the nautical note posted a couple back...hmmmm,

As for dress sizes, yikes, 9 days to sweat it out...I'm sure you'll be fine and look lovely (as always).

Just get the bride good and drunk and no one will notice your tight dress.

You didn't ask but here is how you make your dress comfortable enough to wear in 9 days.

1. Cut out sugar and only have fruit in the a.m. or post-run/yoga.
2. Cut out carbs at dinner.
3. Cut back on booze (I know, I know).
4. Spanx.

Dude, you're so on it. A few bikram classes and your ass will slink right into that dress. I'm counting on you -- I have to do the same in a few months & I've got a lot further to go than a few pounds! Eek! :/

This happened to me. I tried on a sample size 6 and it fit fine so that's what I ordered. It didn't occur to me that the sample sizes may actually be larger due to the hundreds of us chicks trying it on and loosening it up. Mine was snug when it arrived. I'm a realist so I brought it to a tailor and had it let out a bit - totally couldn't tell and it fit so much better and I could actually breathe :)

Girl you'll totally be able to get that dress to fit and if you don't think you can, you could always take it to have it let out a bit.

I am sure you can do it. I am with the others - no sugar, no carbs, no booze (suckage), low sodium, low cal intake, and spanx. Its totally possible.

Look for Bikram classes on the road. I don't know where they send you but a lot of places have them now. Even the old folks in Palm Desert do Bikrams these days.

Ok for real, I was a sausage in a wedding last year. My dress was tiiiiight. At one point, not even kidding, it even busted open because the zipper had had enough. I was able to run to the bathroom, pull it off over my head, re-zip it, and it stayed put the rest of the night (thank god bc I had nothing else to wear!).

SO, as long as that doesn't happen to you I'm sure you'll be fine! And the good news is that no one even noticed or cared about how tight my dress was, not even when it broke open, bc they were too busy looking at the bride! :) It will be great, I promise!

I totally know the feeling! Last year I bought a bunch of pants at the beginning of the year and I couldn't fit them at the end of the year. It never occurred to me to buy a bigger size!

If you make your teeth super white everyone will be blinded by them and not notice that the dress is too tight.
