Weekend Warrior

Since I've been such a stress ball lately, I am deciding to use this time to perform a little science experiment with my body. Just for you guys. That's how dedicated I am to the Institute.

So the experiment is this... can I maintain my weight by eating healthy and just being a weekend warrior?

That's what I've turned into lately. I am not eating poorly. So that's in check.
But I can't seem to get any workouts in except on the weekends.

My weekend plan looks like this:
Tonight - Bikram
Saturday - "The Bar Method" Class
Sunday - Run and maybe another Bikram

Don't worry, I'm not planning on being a weekend warrior forever. I am just not going to put any more pressure on myself (for now). Sometimes we need a little break.

I'm excited to check out this Bar Method class. Unfortunately, the closest studio is about an hour away so if I love it, I probably won't be able to do it very often. Unless some brilliant person realizes that the OC is where it's at and opens a studio here.

In other news, someone may have gone a date with someone new and perhaps it was really fun but someone isn't ready to share more yet.

That's an interesting experiment. I think you can probably do it but you'll need to be really careful with eating. Let us know how it goes.

Congrats to "someone" on the really fun date :-)

I've never heard of the bar method, hope it's not too fun.

Good plan on taking the pressure off a little. You have to recognize your breaking point and just go with it sometimes.

Someone new AND fun?! Ooohhh! I can't wait until you're ready to share! =)

I'm a weekend warrior myself this week. Ugh!

So glad to hear that "Someone" had such a good time!

can't wait to hear about the date :)

my friend has done the bar method and she liked it, but likes the daily method better... she says you either like one or the other just depending on your preferences. yay for you for trying something new!!

and yes we all need a break sometimes, and sometimes just taking that added pressure off ourselves is the break we need to get out there.

hey if being a weekend warrior gives you one less thing to stress about then it is so worth it!

i think we're all excited for your fun new class!

I think "some" exercise is better than no exercise, so if you can only fit it in on the weekends, then that's better than not fitting it in at all!

Ooooh, I'm excited to hear details! Mostly, so I can gauge whether or not I want to follow suit... :)

getting settled into the new house will take its toll on your time. do what you can when you can, and when you get too upset about not working the bod you'll find the time. that's what i had to do last night. hange in there! can't wait to hear about the date.

Good luck to "someone"!

Whenever I have off days..they always have to be during the week. Weekends are reserved for working my booty off..literally. I wish I could get my eating in check..I'd be rippped! haha

I think this is a fantastic idea!

I couldn't fit working out in with our move (due to my all or nothing nature) and ended up with a four month set back.

Waiting to hear how it all goes!

I totally agree. Sometimes you gotta take some time and not overwhelm yourself. I say this to you after I had a meldown last week beacause I was not smart enough to recognize this in myslef.

Props!

I'm the opposite. I haven't been able to get my weekend workouts in at all.

That's dirty pool with that "bar" method. There was not single drop to be drunk at that site.

Ooooo I am intrigued!

I'm not the best at weekend workouts except on Sundays. It used to be easier but now I feel like my weekends are sometimes busier than the week...oy the laundry!

Ooooohhhhhhhh!!! Please be sure to post details about The Bar Method Class!!!! I would LOVE to take that! Most of the days that we have our photo shoots I am around "ballet girls" and their bodies are BE-U-T-FULL!!!!!! Can't wait to hear about it!

I am excited to hear all the details. About the class, of course. Not that other thing that maybe you should share about.

I think that as long as you eat well during the week, you'll be fine with weekend workouts (I lost 40 lbs that way - of course I was pretty fat, and it's not hard to lose that much weight when you have so much to lose.)
