Boobs & Sneakers

For a little added motivation for this upcoming training season, I hit my local running store (Road Runner Sports) for a new pair of kicks. I bought my shoes there last time and it was a very pleasant experience, so I was looking forward to going back.

And let's just say those young fellas didn't disappoint. I was greeted promptly, helped excessively and had a lot of attention while I was there.

I tried on a few selections based on their helpful suggestions. I was bouncing around, running around the store (to make sure my shoes were comfy of course). I ended up with a pair of Nike Air Zoom Vomero 3. I have never been a big fan of Nikes but these felt great.

I was really impressed with the service at RRS. Such helpful young fellas. So I loaded up my purchases (you know I couldn't walk out with JUST shoes), hopped in my car and looked DOWN.

Two buttons on my already low cut shirt had POPPED open and my voluminous breasts were literally pouring out all over the place. Nice.... I guess that's a sure-fire way to get good service.
I took the new Nikes for 4 mile spin this morning. I'm not sure how I feel about them now. They were fine at first, but by the end I kinda felt like there was half a tennis ball under the ball of my foot. I am going to try them again for my 10 miler this weekend and if they disappoint, I will be returning them to Road Runners. Thankfully they have a 60 day return policy. And I'm sure if I have the "girls" out, they will be extra helpful finding me another great pair.
.
Last, thank you for all your advice on Z plan. I am going to make some adjustments, like increasing the mileage on the shorter runs for the 2nd half of training (a lot of you suggested that). Also remember, that I OVER trained last year and ended up with a hip injury that really slowed me down for the LB Marathon. And yes, I will definately keep up with my "during the week" runs to include hill work and speed work.
.
Oh, one more thing. I showed the gals at work a picture of BWDOTDFM and they want me to give him another chance because he is so "dashingly handsome." Honestly, I don't think just a pretty face is enough for me anymore. Welcome to being in your 30s. wah.

Funny I just got a new pair of shoes in the mail... same brand as last time.... but they seem bigger to me. Although they are the same size. And I had to pay customs on them... crap!

Damn, and me without my pushup! Guess I'll have to get to the store tomorrow :-)

Good luck with the shoes and way to work the boobs for top notch service. LOL.

I have to say, wasn't it just a few posts ago you were "sole searching" for the perfect fit? Well BWDOTDFM may be cute, but I would bet he ain't the "pair of sneakers" you are looking for or deserve.

A pretty face isn't enough for us young whipper snappers anymore either... LOL! Sorry, boys, you need to up your game. A sweet ass just ain't what it used to be!

I'm settling nicely into single mode if you want some "company".

And you *know* you still got it - the "girls" got you some top-notch service...

I've always had to work a short skirt- my tiny boobs just don't get me anywhere!

I've kept many men far too long just cuz they're hot. I'd dump him now while it's easier.

I was wondering how your boobs and shoes were going to tie together. Way to tie boobs and shoes together. LMAO!

To me they would have been like, Ma'am ummm ur shirt is open please button that up.

LMAO, now that's funny.

I always try my kicks on the dreadmill for about 5K, our running store won't take them back if they've been "outside".

Good job on working the young fellows!

Pretty faces are good for picture frames, but don't always work out for day-to-day life. I mean, I'm a pretty face who's awesome in person, but not everyone can be me.

And those nice young fellas shoulda given you a boob-count. Like 25% off or something -- for the little peekaboo show they got!

I gotta try that with my girls sometime! :>P Yeah, good looks if he isn't opening the door is not going to work!

Hey, will you read my post today when you get a chance? It's about exercise intervals. I am confused. Not shocking, I know.

That was speedy, thanks! That is what I thought too. Maybe it just didn't work for me. ;>P

Yeah, you are right. It took me a long time to come to that conclusion but I finally came to accept that I can't exercise the weight off. Sucks but I think I am one of those people that have to diet (or be more sensible) with the exercise.

Hmmmm must remember the popped button thing when I need new running shoes. Maybe I can get some sort of sweet discount hahah!

LOL, nice. That's totally a Seinfeld episode. Am I really the first one to point that out?

Yay new shoes :)

Hope the 10 miler goes well with the new sneakers, maybe they just need to be broken in.

While your BWDOTDFM may be one very nice looking guy, if you aren't into him there isn't any point in wasting your time or his. I think as you get older you realize that pretty faces are nice to look at but looks can't make up for lack of connection or personality.

Take those kicks for another spin and let us know what you really think!

A pretty face definitely isn't enough! :)

Hehe. Shoes and boobs. Loved how you tied 'em together.

...and BWDOTDFM? Can someone uhhhhhh...expand those letters. I'm probably oxygen deprieved or something.

OHHHHHHHHHHH
SO. its the Boy who didn't open the door for me boy. Ok. :$

Yeah, he's gotta have personality, not just a pretty face!

Yeah, in your 30's pretty is just a play thing. Ya gotta be able to talk to them in the morning. ;) And a J.O.B. helps too.

I love Road Runner Sports. I've been with them for years and years and years. Back before they would even sell Nikes. (Used to be a little elitist.) I'm sure the girls helped but you'll get good service when you go back too. That's just how they roll.

i'm in Vomero 3's too, and love them. I recently got orthotics, and these seemed to be the best fit. Hope they work out well for you! :D

I think if the people at work get a picture of BWDOTDFM, so should we! We have opinions too :) Post it, sister!

Ummmm - they're supposed to open the door for us?

Sheesh, I've been in this relationship too long - I'm lucky if he lets me actually get into the truck before he takes off... (kidding, really....)

Dump him. Pretty ain't everything. When he gives you half of the last beer in the house -- now HE'S a keeper!

the Bag Lady said...

(and you will notice that I didn't say anything about the sneakers, 'cause I'm not a runner, or the boobs, 'cause I don't have any...!)

Should I wear a chain of some type with my unbuttoned low-cut shirt?

Marcy said...

LMAO at Jess!! Those homies def needed to give you a discount!

I'm sorry you aren't lovin the Nikes. I *heart* my Nikes.

Razz said...

Nikes? Blech. He didn't open the door for you? I swear, the first guy that can crack the code you ladies have set up, will make billions. Gagillions, actually.

Sometimes I wish I had boobs. No I don't. I wear sports bra's and that's it. Smash em' in. Boobs just get in the way. :)

Well at least those girls are good for something. I'll have to try that trick. Hilarious!!

Okay, if he's hot, then maybe another try, but that only gets his foot in the door.

I noticed the same rubber ball under the ball of the foot thing when I was being fitted at Road Runner last month. I asked about it and Nike actually designs shoes to be that way - on purpose! It is supposed to be helpful with something (I don't recall what), but I thought it was distracting. The guy helping me at RR suggested different insoles, since that's where the bump is - it isn't in the actual shoe - if the shoe was an otherwise great fit.
I ended up with a pair of Brooks, but may consider a pair of different insoles for those because I think I'd like a bit more arch support than they're giving me. If it doesn't work out, those Nikes (with a different insoles, of course) will be my next choice before my 60 days are up!
When did shoe purchasing become so dang tricky?! It's not like I'm choosing them based on color!

A friend of mine (also a runner) went & got fitted for a pair of shoes she loved. Then, she went & monitored ebay & bought every *new* pair in her size that appeared. She says she's not yet had a lemon, although once, she was sent the wrong size, but they were painlessly returned/exchanged.

I'm currently loving my Sauconys, but still yearn after my first pair of shoes - Asics. *sigh*
