OK Day

My fartleks (giggle giggle) were quite challenging this morning. I think my legs are still tight & tired from the 20 last weekend. Of course now this makes me want to retract my thinking that I could run a 4 hour marathon. Yeah, I'm fickle like that.

El Numeros:
Miles: 4
Time: 33:35
Pace: 8:24 Average

Going to Bikram tonight. I think I'm over my girl crush. Plus Wed night this hot, dark, muscley tattoo guy attends class. I'd rather focus my attention on him :) We have actually spoken, more than once. By the way, I'm very excited that some cool Portland ladies are going to try Bikram. I hope they like it - re-read my Bikram post so you know what to expect. And give it a couple tries before making any decisions.

I know we've talked about how crazy scales can be, but I just want to reiterate this.
Last night Anita told me I weighed 133 and 20% body fat. This morning I was at 130 and 22% body fat. For some reason, I'm ok with either :) That's a nice feeling.

You're doing fantastic girl! You inspire me!

in light of the poses you posted on your April entry, and my crappy ass dr. appt. this morning, I'm pretty sure there are going to be some serious problems with 5 of them (20-23, and 26).

Do you think it's still worth a try? I really really really wanna go, and since my doc didn't tell me no yoga (I didn't ask), I thought I would ask Dr. POM. You are now my primary care physician.

Either of those numbers would work for me as well. ;>)

p.o.m. your doing so great!! I must give yoga a try. I'm always so tense and i heard yoga helps with that? True?

I ran 5 in 54.10. I tried so hard for 53 min!

So glad that you're comfortable with yourself right now. And scales ARE crazy.

a scale cannot determine body fat honey. only calipers and a trainer who knows how to use them.

What's crazy about my Tanita: I've gained 50 lbs with this pregnancy yet only 6% body fat, according to the scale. I find this highly suspicious and likely inaccurate. I'm truly the Michelin woman these days -- and that's ok, I'm just saying I'm not sure the scale is right.

I want to try Birkham, I just found out they have a place here that does it, and I was way excited!

My body fat is always 2% higher in the morning. I think that is dehydration related.... but since my weight is usually down 2 pounds I weigh in then anyway ;)

Damn Anita, why can't see make up her mind?! hehe.

Hmm fartleks, maybe I should try this actual training program.

Moving on to hot man. nice.
Don't doubt the 4 hours, you got it.
I guess with the scales it all depends on the time. I wonder what time is the real weight we are!

Challenging run, maybe, but your numbers are awesome (that's nice and fast- at least to me).

About the scale, it is great to feel good about it, isn't it?

Okay, forget the girl crush, we need pics of this tall drink of water with the tats!

That's a pretty dang fast 4 miler in my opinion! Nice job.

I agree with Jess--we need pics of the hot guy!

Great time on your run. I could only pray for those kinds of numbers.

Hey- I've been reading in your archives, and discovered that your favorite yoga post is eerily similar to my "classic pose" that I have done a few times in photos.

Weird huh?

nice fartlek. ;)

Did you say something about a hot, dark, muscley tattoo guy??? mmm. yummy.

It's always nice to not want to throw the scale under a bus. Embrace the feeling!

Ummm yeah, I am SO with Jess. Break out that camera I want to see some hot male action ;-)

About the plan. . . I'm 2 weeks behind. I did run or do any cross training during that time so I'm behind. BAH! Whatcha gonna do, eh?

Do soft tissue work (roll, massage, etc) and your legs will feel absolutely lovely.

And now that you're slowly creeping into my speed zone, it's officially on. Bring it.

Great job on the fart-lek. HeHeHe

Wow!!! You rock. Congrats on the awesome body fat percentages - I would be thrilled with either one.

Mmmmm..... tattoo boy sounds lovely...

I think you can do the four hour marathon... you have been kicking ass with the pacing of your longer runs...

Hopefully Gazelle's can make it, otherwise I might chicken out. I tried it once when I lived in Boston, I liked it but the instructor wasn't very good with beginners.

Awesome being content with the scale...I hope I get there someday!

POM,
Do you think that Yoga is a "good enough" cross training workout?

The Yoga class at my gym isn't the "hot" yoga that Bikram is . . . .
