Back from Cabo. Home for one day and leaving tomorrow afternoon for Denver!
It's time for the Denver Skirt Chaser 5k!!!
I'm so excited to see my Denver pals and meet up with some new ones - Running Moore (aka Running Duff), Vanilla and whoever else wants to meet up for a post race drinkie poo.
I got a nice 4 miler in today and will do yoga before I leave. I am dying to get into the yoga room and sweat out some of this extra 4lbs I put on in Cabo (all on my stomach!). Honestly, I gain weight SO easily. I didn't eat really bad in Cabo. A couple chips here and there, but nothing outrageous. I did get a couple runs in, a couple ocean frolicky swims and one $50 yoga class. (Yes, you read that right). Plus it was so damn hot and humid that I was sweating thru my clothing ALL DAY LONG.
4 lbs just hopped on my body so easily. I know it will come off just as easily, but it's just annoying that I gain when I'm not being vigilant and pyscho about it.
So, back to being psycho.

how come no one comes to Nebraska to visit me and run a race? oh yeah....it's Nebraska. Nevermind.
have fun in denver!!! that will be such a fun race :)
Have a safe trip, I'll meet up with you where ever they're handing out beer. Chances are I'll be wearing the lucky blue race shirt, and maybe a red sox hat.
When you see Vanilla, punch him for me. He's totally expecting that so don't worry about it.
Welcome home and bon voyage! I'm the same way with weight. It will be gone before you know it.
Damn, I wish I could go to Colorado.
welcome back, albeit briefly.
Have a great time in Denver. Am very much looking forward to your Portland trip.
I'm sure it's just water weight. I doubt you ate 14,000 extra calories. (right? ;))
Have fun in Denver!
Have fun in Denver... and boy do I hear you on the weight gain..
I am thinking about coming down for the So-Cal skirt chaser this fall... seems like a blast of race.... I want to take the Commander to the kids race the day before...
Sounds like a fun race! Good luck, chica! :)
P.S. 50 bucks for a yoga class? Good lord... were you working out on gold lined mats? :)
Whatever happened to John boy?
Welcome back for a quickie stay at home. I can completely understand on the quick gaining weight thing. I am still trying to decide who gave me that gene. I think both of my parents have it so I am totally screwed.
Enjoy yoga tonight, I bet you have missed it.
Have an amazing time...hoefully your skirt get chased by some hotties!
Have fun in Denver!
Have a wonderful time! I'm jealous I can't be there... still hoping for Portland though.
Have a great trip to Denver. I am sure you are going to have a blast meeting up with everyone.
If you were sweating that much, your weight gain is probably just because you're retaining water. Guzzle, guzzle, guzzle girl, so you can kick trash on your race (you wanna make those hotties work for the "prize" right?).
Enjoy (the scenery in) yoga, and hopefully the altitude in Denver doesn't affect you too much. = )
Enjoy Denver, it sounds like it will be a rip.
p.o.m when are you coming to NY to run in Central Park and do the NYC Marathon with me??? Well???
Have fun in Denver! And do not fret, those 4lbs are probably gone already!!!
I am the same way. The minute I'm not watching what I eat and training my hardest the weight creeps back on. Have fun in Denver!
You little jet-setter!
Have a great time in CO! Good luck with the race!
Dang, I wish I could get to Denver for the Skirt Chaser....that sounds like it will be soooooooo much fun!
ROFLMAO at Nitmos!
Welcome home and see ya later? LOL HAVE FUN!! Don't get Vanilla too drunk. I'd hate to see the hot mess that comes outta that :P
Hi there –
Um, it’s weird I feel like I’m in a parallel universe right now. I was doing a google search for something bikram-related and came across your blog – read the post and loved it – linked to page uno and see this post and freaked! I haven’t read the rest of your posts, but so far we have the following in common: I live in OC, just got back from Cabo on Tuesday where I gained 3 pounds and couldn’t wait to get to bikram to sweat it out (I went last night-it was great and I feel cleansed), and I run but I’m probably a total rookie compared to you. I’m doing a 5K end of this month and last year I accidently ran a half marathon. No idea why I’m telling you this, but I just found all the coincidences odd and wanted to say hi… -N
Have fun in Denver despite meeting up with Vanilla.
oooh and Im chasing the skirts in austin.
for some of us (waves hand!) a 5k is a lot :)
LOL at Marcy!
Have a great race! Please take some pics too.
Girl I hear ya on the psycho part. I've come to realize I can easily fluctuate up 3-5lbs just with a wine or dessert here and there. Well I guess I've decided I choose being psycho and happy with myself than non-psycho and pissed off, right?
Ooohh Denver sounds like fun! Have a nice run! I gain weight so easily too - so unfair !!! Totally a genetic thing I think!
I hear you on the weight. It will take me 2 weeks to lose 5 pounds and an hour to gain it back! So frustrating but what can you do but keep plugging away.
Enjoy your Denver trip!
Yeah, yeah, yeah... have fun in Denver and all, but I want to see pics of your cute running skirt!
duh! alcohol makes you gain weight silly girl.
have a blast in denver!
p.s if you quit drinking for a month you'd lose 8 lbs I bet.
Let me know how the Skirt Chaser goes.. I have seen advertisements for those and wanted to do one. Are you running in the Long Beach Marathon or 1/2?
Go go go!
Have a blast in Denver!
sounds like a fun race in denver.
I just read about that race! I think in Runner's World. Looks like fun.
I can't believe you spent $50 on a yoga class. It should be illegal to charge that much!
I hear you on the easy weight gain. I gain 4lbs after eating a taco.
Have fun in Denver.
Good luck with the 5k! You'll have a great time.
Hope the race in Denver went well :)
Have a fun race in Denver meeting up with buddies!
I am the SAME way, I gain easily, and it all goes to my tummy. Getting older sucks, it really does.
Hope you had fun in Denver, I though the race was a blast.
Ooooo - wish I had been checking the blogs. I totally woulda come out for that! Hope you had fun.
Wow, congrats! Looks like those fartleks are paying off!
Since you said the skirts ended up flashing everyone, do you recommend the skirtsports skirts?
I'm going through all of your Songs of The Day and listening to them while I work today. I have Rhapsody, so unlimited access to EVERYTHING! My only problem is that I don't know what to listen to...Katy Perry is making me happy right now. Thanks!
