Who Needs Training?

It's the 17th of August.
I've run 9 miles this month.
Not quite up to par with "marathon training."

So it looks like my 2009 marathon goals will be
1. Finish
2. Have fun

I'm not even gonna put out a time goal or think about how awesome I was last year.
Honestly, I'm going to just focus on the fun of the race and being my girls again and hangin' in WIS-CAAAAAN-Sin.

I have 47 days (including today, which is a wash) to get my act together.
Stop talking about it and DO it POM.
Seriously.
Get your lazy ass out there (not to mention your newly developing spare tire)!

Ha! Love it!! I think I'm switching my goals to, go slowly and take lots of pictures :) There's always marathon number 2 to do quickly!

All that matters is that you have fun!

You have a great attitude. You are going to have a blst with your girls.

You have plenty of time to re-devote yourself and get back at it!

You can add "don't die" to the goal list. that's always one of my favorites that creeps up about mile 23.

Just focus on having fun with your girls. You can still get in a lot of running in 47 days.

I personally think all marathons should be about finishing and having fun, otherwise what's the point?

You can still get in lots of quality training in 47 days.

I bet if Gazelle reads this she will freak out that you wrote how many days there are until the marathon =).

I was just going to comment - only 47 days? And commence freaking out. And then I saw that Alisa totally called my freakout. So now I am channeling a zen-like calm.

Holy crap.

Ha, okay get off your ARSE and start running! You have 1128 hours left to train, that's plenty of time...

wooo 47 days!

I ran SD this year with the goal of having fun and it was SO MUCH FUN!!! I highly recommend to everyone to run a marathon without worrying about a time goal... just gives you a different perspective on it :)

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Have fun. Sometimes those are the best races.

Actually, those are always the best races :)
