Remember long ago when this was a running blog?
I figured the 2nd installation of "where have you been for the last 6 months" should be about running.
When we left off back in August I was training for my 3rd marathon. Remember, the one in Wisconsin? I use the word "training" lightly. I was half-assed training.
I was running about 3 days a week, with longer runs on the weekend. I only ran two 20-milers. They both kinda sucked. Needless to say, I wasn't planning on winning any awards in Wisconsin (not 'real' awards, but I mean 'yeah-me' awards).
My new job had me traveling like crazy before the marathon. The week before I was in Danbury, Tampa Bay, then Myrtle Beach. Then I flew directly to Madison, then to Chicago the day after. CaH-R-A-Zeeeee
Honestly though, the marathon wasn't actually that bad. I finished in 3:57. Not as good as Portland, but still under 4 hours. So I'll take it. There was definitely more blood, sweat and tears and ohhhhhhhhhh chub rub and lost toe nails.
Needless to say, after the marathon I fell off the running wagon. I was just sick of running. I can't even remember what I was doing, but based on my current weight I must have spent the past 6 months eating and drinking. I've never shied away from telling you guys my weight, so here it is. I'm back up to 142. (My happy weight is 132) All my work pants are in closet-lock-down since I can't button them. I'm wearing my "fat jeans" again. I even purchased new jeans that are 2 sizes bigger than my usual.
BUT as of last weekend - the running girl is back. I'm hoping the blog will keep motivated (and you too?) Last Saturday I went down to the beach and had the best 8 mile run I've had in a really long time. Then I went to Bikram. Sunday I went to Bikram again. Monday, I ran 4 miles and went to Bikram. I ran 4 miles this morning and think I can get back on the morning bandwagon.
Those fat jeans will be outta here soon!

Great job getting back into it. I am going back and reading my blog so that I can get back on the "running wagon" too.
Best of luck!
Doesn't sound like your marathon was too too bad! I mean, sub 4 is awesome. I hate when I fluctuate in my weight! I have to decided if I need to buy two sets of clothe or not. Fat Jocelyn or Skinner Jocelyn can show their face at any time!
Great job running again! I could use your motivation!
glad you are back at it girlie - keep it up :)
Glad to see you back!
Crazy schedule for sure!!
I'd take a sub-4 marathon, good for you. Taking a break from running is sometimes the best thing to do...but welcome back.
Glad to have you back girl. Good luck getting out of those fat jeans! I know you can totally do it!
I'm glad you're putting your running shoes back on. I'm looking forward to the next installment of what has been happening in your life since August.
We live in a weird westcoast/midwest parallel. No running for me since October. Happy weight 135. Current weight 145. Keep writing, oh great motivator! :)
you go girl!!!!! how nice to finally get back in the swing of running?? i have been dealing with the winter here and i think the only real solution is to run-it simply makes you happy!! :) :) glad you're back!
Hang in there POM, you'll get it back. Sounds like you're on track already. And your blog readers are still supporting you!
Yay running girl! I can't believe that being off the bane wagon you can go out and run 8 miles! Nice job! Can't wait to hear more about it.
Glad you're back! And yes, your blog definitely keeps me motivated in that weight-loss battle and early-morning workout battle!
I'm glad you're back! :) As a piece of advice...in my own experience, nothing, nothing, NOTHING helps me maintain my weight like eating well. I went several months without workout out, due to several reasons, and I still maintained my weight loss.
Well done on the marathon - esp w/ minimal training & your crazy work schedule!
I have barely been running lately but it's due to an injury of some sort. My knee has been bothering me so i have taken it easy lately... Feel a bit guilty but hopefully I am back to running in a week or so!
Still a great time with all the craziness going on. Glad you're back to running. You'll be back to your happy weight in no time.
Sometimes we need a hiatis to give the body and the brain a break. Maybe the 6 months gave you a couple (or 10) of reasons to refocus. I'm off on an injury so I'll be looking to you for self motivation while I work my way back into running when the PT gives me the go ahead.
I MISSED YOOOOOOOOOOOOU!!!!!! xxxx
hey anytime you break 4 hours that's a solid marathon. i've been half assed training for my marathon in a few weeks too.
Hells yeah those fat pants are going down! Just stay clear of the white trash queso.
I'm running seattle!! I'd love to not be training terribly hard and be under 4 hours you rockstar!
Good for you. I'm tried just reading about your activity. I need to use you as inspiration.
Great marathon time!! Crud, my first Half was only an hour longer than your full! ;) POM, you ROCK!
Sounds like the marathon was good - glad you are getting back into running!
I'm happy your back and blogging again! 3:57 is a pretty awesome time!
Yeah you're back! I will start checking in more to catch up on your life. :-)
Welcome back to running, my dear. :o)
Congrats on the marathon, and YAY for getting back into it! I'm posting something new today inspired by you, and I'm also happy to say that this most recent update has further inspired me to hopefully get back on the wagon too.
Oooh I didn't know you ran Portland. I'm doing the Portland marathon this fall and it'll be my first one ever! So excited.
Good job getting back to running!!
Sub 4 is always handy, and welcome back!
I found your blog through a friends...and am looking forward to your motivation as I try and find my own for my first half and triathalon and fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans again!
We miss you again! Come back!
Bye bye Fat Jeans and welcome back POM!
BTW, your "fat jeans" are probably my dream size or smaller...
That's totally the same reason I hopped back on the blogging wagon too. New jobs are not fun for the waistline :-)
Great job running again! I could use your motivation!
