Regroup

Sorry about the negative nelly post yesterday.
See, I am human sometimes. But I'm pushing past those thoughts and moving onward and upward!

Right after I hit the "publish post" button, I clicked on over to MizFitOnline. Let's just say I felt a proverbial bitchslap! (In a good way, Miz!, In a good way). Her post yesterday was about Attitude and Gratitude, which obviously I need a BIG, fat reminder. So thank you Miz!

There are only 10 more days until the Portland Marathon. Boy, do I have a lot to be thankful for. Because I love lists, I will outline a few:
  • Awesome training season - I stuck to Ze Plan and I think I found a plan that works for me.
  • I started with 3 basic goals and I am pretty sure that I will reach all of them! Hopefully even surpass my time goal. I put 4:20 out there originally, but I am really aiming for a 4 hour marathon. (Remember my time last year was 4:45, but I have worked really hard on this).
  • I'm so grateful that I have a strong and healthy body that allows me to be this crazy runner girl that I have become.
  • I grateful for fun, amazing, fantastic friends that are going to run with me. And grateful for new friends that I'm going to meet because of it. How incredible is it to have POSITIVE people in your life!
  • A life in balance is a good thing. I feel more ready than I ever have!

A few people have asked what my running looks like up until the marathon. I am going to stick with what I've been doing. Drinking TONS of water. I'm thinking about 100+ oz per day, especially if I'm doing Bikram. Of course, this is subject to change because I'm flexible like that:
Thur - 4 miles
Fri - yoga
Sat - 8 miles & yoga
Sun - yoga (maybe)
Mon - 4 miles
Tue - yoga
Wed - 4 miles
Thur - Bikram, then traveling to PDX
Fri - Maybe a couple miles or just a lot of walking in Portland
Sat - Chill with my girls, eat, rest up
Sun - 26.2 in 4 hours!!!!!

Short-Term Goals

I'm all signed up for the Trot.
Yippy. I think I'm running it alone, but the Captain will be at the finish line, so that's fine with me. I ran this race last year and my time was 56:44. My PR for a 10K is 55:23. So I just want to beat that time. I'm a little worried that I'm slower because:
xx
A. I still have hip issues
B. I am fatter and Heavy girl = Slow girl
C. I have been focusing on distance rather than speed
xx
So, we shall see what happens

This is a FUNDRAISING run, so pleeeeeeeeeeeease stop by my fundraising page if you have any loose change laying around and you want to help feed the hungry. If you would like more info on the charity, check out the Feed OC Website. Also, there just MIGHT be a photo of a certian captain on my fundraising page, so if you want to check out his cuteness, you will just have to go to my fundraising page. And then since you're already there, you can just donate a few bucks. Sneaky, huh?

Last - the first weigh in for the Holiday Weight Loss Challenge will be monday! I hope everyone has been on thier A-game. To be honest, I have been a total booze-hound this week and broke all my rules when it comes to drinking. Damn Blueberry Vodka! But starting today, I am going to find a way to get at least 2 hours a day of some sweaty workouts in all weekend to make sure my weight goes DOWN instead of UP. ITS NOT TOO LATE TO JOIN UP - so if you have a few extra ELL-BEEs you want to shake, then check us out. We also have a fancy forum for chatting about food, drinks, goals, stats, etc.
x
Dassssssssss it for now. Have a great weekend peeps.

Holiday Weightloss Challenge

Alright, so here it is. A nice and simple individual weight loss challenge.

  • Post your current weight.
  • Post your goal weight.
  • Post your prize to yourself.

Then Mondays we can all post your current weight to check the status. We need to reach our goals by February 1st in order to give yourself your own prize.

Whether you have 5lbs to lose or 50 lbs to lose, you are only competing against yourself. But, you have us to share your success with (because there will be no failure!)

My Stats:

  • Current Weight: 146 (All time high was 168; All time low is 134)
  • Goal Weight: 135
  • My Prize: Day at the Spa - Facial and Massage
Let me know if you're in. Good luck everyone.

***UPDATE: Database Diva has set up a lounge for us! Yeah - she rocks. So, please check it out, sign up and all that stuff! ***********
Holiday Weighloss Challenge

In other news, I started my training program this weekend and it's off to a great start. I ran my easy peasy 3 miles this morning. A little bit of hip pain, but I'm used to it. The girls in my office are eating bagels. I am not. I had a piece of whole grain toast with cottage cheese on top and some pineapple. The sunrise was awesome this morning, I had to take a picture (with my cell phone, so it's not that great):

D-Day of the Fat A$$

Holy Mother of All Things Crappy.
No. No. No. This can't be true.

Here's how last night shook down:

Enter Gym.
Spot scale from across the room.
Slowly walk towards it.

Deep breath.
Step on scale, simultaneously covering the results.
Jump off scale.
Wait. That did not say what I think it said. Deep breath.
Step back on scale.
There must be a mistake.
I hope nobody saw. (looks around)
OH MY GOD ~ HOW CAN I CONFESS THIS ON MY BLOG???
I feel like I have to.

So, here it is. 1-f''n- 4 - g'd -6.
There, I said it. 146.

Seriously - what the F%$* happened? How did I gain 12 G'd lbs?

Jess - It wasn't willpower that kept me from the scale. It was pure fear.
Mendy - You're on! We can do it.

So my goal is out there. 135. That's 11 lbs. I want to be there by race in Feb.

For me, it's mostly about eating, so here are the rules:
1. Breakfast: Egg White/Cottage Cheese, Kashi/whole grain bread, Fruit
2. Salad for lunch with no dressing (I do this already)
3. Protein and veggies ONLY for dinner
4. Wine/Martinis - only once a week
5. No bread at dinner/lunch. Ever.
6. No chocolate. No cookies.
7. Weigh self once a week only
9. Stick to work out plan
10. Don't be psycho by talking about it all the time. Only blog about it. (So get ready, cuz all my psychosis will be directed to ya'll.)

I did it before. I can do it again. I just thank God I caught this before it got out of control.

Does anyone want to see my workout plan??? Not sure if it's annoying to show that shizz.

In other news, The Captain is returning on Saturday from a week long fishing turned gambling trip. Can't wait until he gets home! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
