Whoa Is Me

Yesterday afternoon was my first chance to run in over a week.
I set out playing "dodge the tourist" on the beach path in front of the hotels (in Maui).
Here are the digits:
Mile 1: 8:54
Mile 2: 8:45
Mile 3: 8:54 (wow consistent, eh?)
Mile 4: 16:20 (yes, you read that right )
Mile 5: 15:47

As you can tell I pulled a POM move. I haven't run in a while and I got out all gung ho. Of course half way gone and I pull something in my left calf. I've done this before. More than once. Same calf too. If I take too long of a break and go out like a banshee, I pull something in this stupid calf. You'd think I will eventually learn.

I just hope it heals up quick because if I ever get home I need to commence this so-called marathon training.

Still waiting for this big hurricane to hit. It's been down graded to a tropical storm. I've seen plenty of winds and a bit of sprinkles of rain, but that's it so far. We had to reschedule all the group events. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry, as THEY say.

I'll finally be heading home in 5 more days. I packed 17 pairs of undies. I have 5 left. I guess I'm a good planner in that aspect. I feel like I've been gone forever. I wonder when the anxiety will hit. The anxiety about what I am going home to.
Relationship-wise... nothing.
Work-wise...nothing.
Why am I so eager to get home?

Off to Canada, Eh.

I'm jet setting off to Vancouver tomorrow.
This might be one of my last trips, so I'm going to enjoy every moment of it.
First off, I lurve me some Canadians. The men ~ tall and manly.
The food... yummmmmmmmmmmssssssssss.
We are taking float planes to Victoria Island.
We are taking helicopters to Whistler.

It will be pure amazingnessocity.

Then I'm flying directly to Maui.

My life is awesome for the next couple weeks. I will have my laptop so stay tuned for updates.

I'm super duper glad I switched my marathon training plan around. I got that 20 miler out of the way so while I'm traveling I only need to get a 10 and a 14 miler in. The 14 miler will be in Maui - I'm looking forward to that!

When I come home - we'll let's not think about that just yet.

Hola Problemos

Hola.

I landed in Puerto Rico and got to my hotel to find this....

Please note the essentials:

1. Computer with Mrs. F's Blog on the screen.

2. A bottle of Cab sent from the hotel.

3. A yummy-ass cheese platter sent from the hotel.

Let's just say, I dove in HEAD FIRST! But I think if I was calorie counting, I would still be within my limits since traveling these days means you don't get to EAT ANYTHING on the plane. I had 45 mins between flights and barely had the chance to get a shit-sandwich. I only ate half and tossed it (regretting that later!). I was so hungry by the time I got to the hotel I was absolutely STARVING (my excuse for the cheese-dive).

Honestly, I thought I planned ahead. I packed 2 hard boiled eggs and an apple. Well, that was gone by 9am. I landed at 9pm. Ohhh.. the joys of travel. And YES, Angry Runner, I did sit in bulk head on one flight, and exit row on the other. That's how I roll.

Well, hopefully I can wake up early enough to get a run in tomorrow before my meeting crap starts. But since there is only about one glass of wine left in this bottle, that just might not happen. Somehow, someway, I have to get a 9 miler in for my half marathon training. And there is no way I want to do that on a treadmill. Good thing Big G came with me. Just not sure yet how I feel about running around by myself in an unknown city. I'm pretty adventurous though - I will figure out something.

Goals of the week:

1. To weigh the same when I get home as I do now.
2. To salsa dance even though I don't know how.
3. Have a few laughing fits - I really need some laughs!
(I'm sure no. 2 and no. 3 will go hand in hand)
