Reason #82 To Look At Prices BEFORE You Buy

Ok peeps.
Who is the idiot of the day?
I AM.

I called Bloomies (see below) and apparently they didn't charge me for the foundation. I mistakenly thought that the $251 bucks included my foundation. Oh no. It didn't. The Foundation is another $75. The receipt just had numbers and the cost, so I thought that one of the $28 items was the foundation. NO. It's $75. I am such an idiot sometimes.

I just can't go spend another $75. I shouldn't have even spent the $251 yesterday. I'm not going to be able to eat for the week.

I still have no foundation. No way in hell am I going to buy Cover Girl.
What to do? What to do?

(By the way, I already opened and used everything so I can't return it. Plus I'm to chicken shit to return stuff.)

I have returned OPENED makeup to nordies before--after saying it caused me a horrible allergic reaction (which it did).
That sucks about the foundation though. $251 --Ouch!

OK I am a total make up snob I wear Chanel eye shadow with Target pants. I can feel your pain with the foundation. I usually do tinted moistrizer and am very happy with the coverage. A little less 55$. OK not here to pimp my products. Can you pull a lil more fountadtion from ur old one by adding some moistrizer to it till next week?

Oh no! I'd be crushed and devasted that I spent that much on make up. I'm not into make up at all!! But I'm the queen of returning...stupid buyers remorse.

Tell them you had a reaction to it, they'll take it back!

oh boy.. I'm not a foundation girl, I do use Bare Minerals powder sometimes?? Or maybe tinted moisturizer?

I would totally take the "allergic reaction" route on two of the other products (or several), and then buy the foundation that you need. I have done this before at Lancome, and they have no issue.

oh, that SUCKS!

i know nothing about make up (i'm not embarrassed to admit that i do buy Cover Girl stuff ... altho Sephora is one of my favorite stores, ironically enough). i'm voting for the "allergic reaction" story ... go get yourself the stuff you really wanted.

Oh bummer! I agree with the others - I'm pretty sure you can return used products to the high end stores. Or you should at least be able to exchange it. FYI - I don't use MAC foundation myself, but they are having a 25% off discount online. I splurged on a $75 Chanel foundation recently and I really liked it. Good luck!

My husband would kill me if I spent $75 on foundation. Ouch!!!

My MIL gave me some Avon Smooth Minerals foundation and I LOVE IT!!! It has really nice coverage and is inexpensive as well (and I think better for your skin).

I would SO return the stuff (and I'm not a return girl -- always me with apologies for the inconvenience).

As a runner, I love Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer (which has SPF 20 in it). It costs $42 but it lasts a long time.

And I use Creme de la Mer (uber-pricey) as my moisturizer, but $12 MAC mascara, so it's fine to mix & match.

Good luck. I can't wait to hear "the rest of the story!"

Geez that is some expensive stuff! I'm really not much of a makeup wearer but I do love special lotion (i.e. expensive lotion).

I hate returning stuff too...I always feel guilty...why is that?

P.S. I used Benefit foundation for my wedding and loved it! It was pretty inexpensive compared to $75...I think it was $20 or $30.

Agreed. Can you do a tinted moisturizer? I do strategically placed concealer and a powder with a touch of shimmer. I despise foundation.

Otherwise, I think you should just go buy it.

Wow and I feel guilty dropping $40 on mine ;-). You = way classier than I!
