Surfin' USA

You ever have those days where you wish your inside matched your outside?
Today, I wish my outside matched my inside.

I am feeling STRONG and CONFIDENT
BUT (there's always a big butt - ha ha)
My poor body (calf) is not feeling so strong.

The half marathon is this weekend. I know I can run this race without much training. But I don't know if I will be able to limp the entire race. That just sounds dreadful. If I have to quit mid-race, I will. But it will suck and I know I'll feel like a failure.

In FANTASTIC news...
I am finally meeting Viv and Danica today. Whoo hooo!!! We're planning on meeting at the expo. I have to say it's been a long time comin' for me and Miss Viv. We tried to meet up in Puerto Rico back in April of 08. Then again in Houston in - crap I forgot when. But this time we are makin' it happen. And Chic Runner practically lives next door, so there is no excuse. I can't wait to meet these awesome athletes!

I love Expos, too. Maybe a hot guy will spot me from across the room and our eyes will meet, and we'll walk towards each other... and...

I probably won't be a bloggin' again until Monday. Have a great weekend everyone.

Good luck babe!

Pace yourself from the beginning and you'll finish no problem. :)

Maybe you'll be limping along the path, and super hot runner guy will spot you and swoop you up and carry you the rest of the way.

Don't push it. How fun meeting Viv and Danica! Have a great weekend. As soon as the race is over ice and rest up.

I saw a T shirt in one of my first races that said Dead last finish > Did not finish >>>>>>>> Did not start. I always remember that. If you do have to quit, just remember, at least you started. Plus it's not your fault, just your calf's.

Good luck!

Good luck, I know you'll do great. You'll get like 2 miles in and that adreniline will kick in and you won't even FEEL your calf.

Do you have a foam roller? use it. Get on You Tube and type in Foam roller calf. Once you watch it it should be no problem. do it then ice after your runs and at night. Saved my life I tell ya.

Find a chiropractor who specializes in ART (active release therapy) its amazing! They are focused on athelets and work through the muscles instead of just alignment issues. Come to Chico and visit Dr. John, you'll be nothing short of amazed.

if you come up here I'll have to go down there to do bikram. sheesh its a bitch to get into our one studio in town.
