One Step Forward; Two Steps Back

One Step Forward:

**I actually washed my hair, put on make up and wore clothes that match!

Two Steps Back:

**Got home very late from work (too late to run, but not too late to drink a bottle of wine).

**Woke up with headache and didn't run again this morning.
The weather is perfect, but I'm stuck working like a mad woman. But I really can't complain because my next business trip makes Hawaii look like Galveston. I promise promise promise to get back out there by the weekend.
So, seriously anybody know how much the Betty costs these days?

I think if you just need to rest and get away, you're supposed to go to Promises in Malibu. The Betty is reserved for those who truly need rehab; Promises is like a spa (I infer).

I gotta agree with Jess, Promises it is!! Just think of all the famous peeps you could be friends with :P

Where are you going that's better than Hawaii? That's what I want to know.

Try to do just 2 miles. 2 miles is nothin'. It will get you going again.

A whole bottle huh? Yeah, I can throw one of those back too. Not every night, but I frequently would have 2-3 glasses. And if you get a really big wine glass, you can drink a whole bottle and just say "I only had one glass."

That is why I went cold Turkey. Four days and counting, I think I'm past the worst of it:) Frankly, the bit of cravings are better than the hangovers anyday. You must have some stress you are trying to deal with in the evenings? Maybe an evening run would help.

Part of me is jealous of your and Nancy's great trips - but I think the travel would wear on my family:)

Try to find some time, carve it out of something else you wanted to do and just go out and get back out there. Once you take that initial first step (that feels like torture) the rest will come back.

That’s what I should do, give up running and just drink! Why do both of them part-time, when I could concentrate on drinking and get good at it?

i'm with you on the wine. why is wine so wonderful? why oh why? i also agree with the above comment - just run 2 miles! run anything! go go go!

I feel really funny trying to be motivational whilst sitting in the office a full 30 minutes after I could have left the office pondering whether or not I should go 1.) buy a bottle of wine and follow in your footsteps or 2.) go run 8 miles "for the heck of it."

I should try motivational again after my 8-miler and 1/2 that bottle of wine. That would be a lot more fun.

Later gator :-D

I must know where you're going next, please share soon!

Try to get out and run at least a mile, its better than nothing and won't be all that difficult. Plus, you'll feel so proud of yourself and can have some wine as a reward!

I am so jealous of the business trips. If I am lucky my business travel just takes me across the river.
Let me know if you need a roomie at Betty Ford. My kids are determined to secure me a room.

LOL @ looking like Galveston. It is is the closest beach I got so I will take it. Nothing like muddy water and dead fish smell.

If you find a good Betty let me know if they take patients who eat crap on the weekends.

One mile, chickie and you will be back!

Lol, is it ever really too late to drink a bottle of wine?!

I think that once you get the first run in, you will be back to your old running self!

You are a funny chee-ka! Trust me, your comment is mild compared to most mens comments about goats....nuff said.

Yeah, once you figure out how much and what it takes to get in, just let me know and I'll be right there with you. We can hold hands and sing Kumbaya together :P

Ohhh Aimee Mann is good stuff.

You'll get back there, runner girl. Just take it one day at a time, one drink at a time ;)

okay - I'm itching to know where you're going next! You'll get there, chica. and when you do, you're gonna love being out on the pavement again.

Shoot for the moon! The more you run, the more you can drink. 1 mile = 1 glass, 2 miles = 2 glasses. Catch my drift. :)
