The Race is ON....

As most of you know, I'm running the Surf City Half Marathon this weekend. I ran this race last year (my first big race) and I finished in 2:04.
x
Now, I know there is no way in heck-a-roo that I will beat that time for a few reasons:
1. I'm not as fit as I was last year.
2. I am running alone (my girlfriend last year really pushed me to pick up my pace).
3. I am slightly to moderately UNDERTRAINED.
x
x
So taking these lame excuses into play, here are my race goals:
1. Have fun
2. Finish Strong - at least at 2:10
3. Make the Captain proud
4. Eat a crapload of food afterwards
Good luck to everyone else running this weekend.

You're not undertrained, you're just well rested!

Woo hoo! I am excited for you!! Can't wait to see how it goes. Perhaps next year I could give it a try. Hmm.

they always say its better to be undertrained than overtrained. i don't know who 'they' are ... but they always say that. i'd go with it & not worry - you'll be great!

Good Luck with your race! It is often difficult to compare year to year races against each other. The course may change, the weather different etc... Have a great time and ejoy yourself after. Eat Lots! You will have earned it!

Having fun should always be the #1 goal. Enjoy it from the starting line to the finish line.

Can't wait for the race report.

Good luck with your race, I'm sure you will kick arrss - love your goals.

PS - I noticed the same thing about the movies, I was thinking of checking some of the ones you have listed that I haven't seen. I have about 50 movies I want to see right now, but haven't had time to lately....but I do have time to read countless blogs.

If you can do 2:10 when you're undertrained, you're a rockstar, no matter what!

Best of luck!

I like the shirt design -- very surf-y.

Sorry I couldn't post Friday (was on my way to Texas). A little late, but, since you haven't posted your result yet - good luck.

Ok, now, how'd you do ? :)
