Please note the essentials:
1. Computer with Mrs. F's Blog on the screen.
2. A bottle of Cab sent from the hotel.
3. A yummy-ass cheese platter sent from the hotel.
Let's just say, I dove in HEAD FIRST! But I think if I was calorie counting, I would still be within my limits since traveling these days means you don't get to EAT ANYTHING on the plane. I had 45 mins between flights and barely had the chance to get a shit-sandwich. I only ate half and tossed it (regretting that later!). I was so hungry by the time I got to the hotel I was absolutely STARVING (my excuse for the cheese-dive).
Honestly, I thought I planned ahead. I packed 2 hard boiled eggs and an apple. Well, that was gone by 9am. I landed at 9pm. Ohhh.. the joys of travel. And YES, Angry Runner, I did sit in bulk head on one flight, and exit row on the other. That's how I roll.
Well, hopefully I can wake up early enough to get a run in tomorrow before my meeting crap starts. But since there is only about one glass of wine left in this bottle, that just might not happen. Somehow, someway, I have to get a 9 miler in for my half marathon training. And there is no way I want to do that on a treadmill. Good thing Big G came with me. Just not sure yet how I feel about running around by myself in an unknown city. I'm pretty adventurous though - I will figure out something.
Goals of the week:
1. To weigh the same when I get home as I do now.
2. To salsa dance even though I don't know how.
3. Have a few laughing fits - I really need some laughs!
(I'm sure no. 2 and no. 3 will go hand in hand)
As soon as you land in PR your body automatically knows its in the land of latin dance, salsa will come naturally, and with salsa, comes that throw your head back and laugh out loud feeling. I hope you enjoy yourself, and keep us updated!!!
Bulkhead and exit row for them nice, long legs of yours. I like how you roll.
Salsa is all in the hips, btw. As is Merengue. The latter is much easier to pick up than the former.
That cheese platter looks yummy, with the vino...ahh heaven. Be careful running around the city, senorita. If you find a good route, please share. I have to get some miles in on Sat.
Whoohoo on the salsa just shake it!
Looks like a Marriott cheese platter. Is it sad that I can tell the different hotel chains apart by their dishes?
P.S. I sat bulkhead this morning.
Oooh, have fun! And take LOTS of pictures for us!
I cannot resist cheese! YUM!!
Seems like a great hotel at least :-)
Good luck with the run. Make sure you are safe. And yes I know I sound like your mother or something. haha.
You had me at bottle of cab.
Maybe the hotel has running ideas. Good luck and have a great time.
Glad you made it safely to PR. I hope you hit all of your goals !!
Salsa dancing, wine and cheese! Sounds like a promising trip!
I hope you get those laughs!!
You'll do it, fo sho!! ;-)
Numero dos and tres will keep numero uno in check
Whoo hooo, puerto rico! (I was rolling my r's, can you tell?)
Have a great trip and enjoy the salsa. :)
I think goal #2 will help with #1, too! :) Salsa away!
anything that involves a cheese plate & a bottle of wine has to be good!
Wine and cheese are good for you. And salsa dancing is easy, just find a hot latino to lean against and let him lead.
I can't even imagine. I am a evil something when I haven't eaten. Hang in there and have fun. Hopefully salsa dancing will come naturally once the music starts.
Your work trips are more exciting than my real vacations! Le sigh.
I'm drooling over the cheese. And the wine. Mostly just the cheese though.
I hope some hot cabana boy brings you lots and lots of laughs. A few other "things" wouldn't hurt either...
I have given up the mommie juice (red wine) in hopes that it will help stimulate weight loss - so I'm drooling over your wine glasses (I can skip the cheese just give me the vino!)
I do not envy anyone having to travel these days, planes sitting for hours on runways or flights canceled.
Enjoy your trip.
Hope you have a great time, chica!
Keep your glutes loose and you'll do fine at salsa. Just don't try to force it :-).
i have a bunch of friends running in that race... i wish i would have signed up!!! nothing like wine tasting at the end of a run :)
have fun in PR!!
Have a great time! I've done the whole almost finishing a bottle of wine by myself while traveling...Come to think of it, I've done it at home too!
