The Road Most Travelled

I realized I'm the queen of the "NO EXCUSES" thing when it comes to exercise, but I'm full of contradictions, so there.

This week is sucking for me.

First off, trying to maintain friendships and dating and all that shiz has me doing something every night of freakin' week - which means NO YOGA for me. (No wonder I'm such a head case today). Next week, I am saying "no" to any invites that come along.

Second, I have not been able to get up early to run. I ran Tuesday, but Monday and this morning I was just too damn tired.

At least I have been diligent on the food-front. Actually, I have a client meeting today and had to put on my suit (a once a month thing) and it's looking too big! I always feel like a kid playing dress up in a suit anyway and now it's even worse. ha!

I am counting the minutes until my weekend - which starts Saturday morning. I have an event Friday night that will have me working until 2am. But Saturday..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Saturday. I will fill you in on my weekend plans later.

Until then my friends...

Actually, I'm kinda bored. I'm in week 5 of summer vacation and I need something to do.

Ya, don't kill yourself, it is good to be out with people, and this is just a busy week. Do you do events, what is this 2am thing at work, on a Friday? booo. It will be here soon!!

It happens to the best of us. Enjoy the company. Yoga will be there next week.

Life, especially work, seems to get in the way sometimes BUT you'll get back into your routine next week. If your suit is lookin' too big then you must be doing something right!

Ha! I usually feel like I'm playing dress up when I put on a suit, too.

The weekend is coming up soon... just hand on a bit longer!

I'm willing the weekend to come faster than usual this week too. I've also been forced to skip my morning runs but I have somehow been able to squeeze them in in the evening. I definitely want to get back to my regular routine asap.

I am so with you on the no excuses thing, but then today I did the unthinkable and slept in - instead of running. I am blaming my ear infection.... I have also been known to turn down social events so I can get my workout on.

Glad this guy is fun to hang out with! I hope you manage to get your miles in soon!

Life does get in the way, but I always figure that people are more important than running. So it's okay once in awhile to interrupt the trianing with an actual life.

You're right, balancing social life, dating, and training is can be quite difficult... but, once you find the balance, you will be okay with it all!

This is one of my "loosen up and let off on on the mileage weeks" so I guess your timing is impeccable! Not that we're on the same plan or anything, but still you can relish in the fact that you're doing everything right by my horrific standards ;-).

Much hunka hunka runnin' luvz (hey, I didn't make a lasagna, I'm so drinking beer - pardon the extreme 50's inspired dorkhoodery).

Guess you will have to go shopping for a new suit. Hope you are able to get some yoga in this weekend.

Your only true friend is your running shoes. Be loyal. Everyone else can screw off.

balance it really hard when you are training for a marathon. I think that's why my closest friends are now in the running group.

Two days until your weekend starts, you can make it!

Yeah, I got tired of trying to maintain friendships and try to fit them into my workout schedule so I did something a bit easier...I joined a running group and they became my closest friends. Might have been an easy way out of my situation, but it just makes my life so much easier. Now I can hang out with my friends while I'm working out!

THere are definitely friends I'd like to find more time for, but it's so hard when they want to hang out right after work and I'm like, "uh, sorry gotta go to the gym or go on a run." Can we do dinner at 8?
