Movin' and Shakin'

I'm feeling better about my closet.
Thank you all soooooooo much for the advice. I performed a major purge last night. I have half a room full of stuff that I am offering to some girlfriends or giving to charity. I have to admit that I only got rid of 2 pairs of shoes. I really do wear all of them. (Side note: last time I moved I specifically remember my dad saying "Do you really need 6 pairs of black heals?" Yes dad, I do and if you wear heals everyday it's nice to not have to wear the same ones!)

This is what I'm gonna do:
Spare bedroom closet will get all the shoes, suits, dressier dresses, bathing suits, purses and stuff that isn't worn on a regular basis. I will put some mirrored closet doors (eventually) in there and make it my dressing room.

The closet in my room will have all my work clothes and daily wear items. I will get a double rod in there and I think it will work. I also want to eventually get those awesome flocked hangers. I wish I could now, but dang my money is quickly evaporating.

My girlies are coming over to new place tonight to help me clean it all up (Thanks Dr Dev and Mrs. C). Then the big move in starts tomorrow!!!!!!

I did get my 4 miler in this morning. My mind was racing the entire time with my to-do list that I actually enjoyed my run. It went pretty fast. However, I'm still off kilter with my nutrition and hydration. When I'm busy and stressed, I do the opposite of most people - I don't eat. Actually I haven't had dinner the past 2 nights. I was just so absorbed in what I was doing. I haven't really been eating breakfast either. Just an apple. But with my girls coming tonight, I thought I would supply some food and drinks so I'll eat - don't fret. And next week when I'm in my new place with my fridge - I'll stock up and get my act together.

have fun moving. i know it's always a huge pain in my ass.

and if you think it's tough now, wait until you have kids. moving all of that baby crap and 4 sets of bedroom furniture, gawd it's going to be awful. (this summer i want to move back to raleigh, nc, about a 5 hour drive from where we are now.)

That's great that you can get some girls to help you out. It seems like less work with drinks and friends!

Great plan with the closet purging!! I have a love/hate relationship with getting rid of stuff.. i love the extra space but I'm a pack rat and it HURTS me to get rid of stuff!!

I'm the same way: when I get absorbed in a task, I don't eat either. It seems that when you're that busy, there's just no time for it.

Good luck with the move! It certainly is a good way to force yourself to sort through everything.

I can always make time to eat unless I am broken hearted or in soCal watching skinny people then I refuse to eat. Anywhoo hope the closet arrangement works out. Way to keep getting in the mileage during the busy times. Hope the move this weekend goes smooth!

Sounds like a great plan for the closet!

When I'm the busiest is when I have the best runs, gives me lots to think about then!

I'm guilty of not eating when I'm stressed, too. I also do better helping other people remember to drink water but forget to do it myself. Duh!

What an exciting weekend - enjoy the fun of your new place and all that comes with it!! I grew up as an Air Force brat, so I think moving is awesome. :)

I wish I had your shoe problem! Keep that shit. Enjoy it!

Great job on the run. Seriously, make sure you're fueling yourself enough.

I also don't eat when I'm stressed I am a total boredom eater.... why can't I have more stress?!! I shouldn't even say that out loud.
